Well, genetics helps! But the basis is diet, exercise & rest. Most Americans don't eat right, don't exercise & don't get enough sleep. It all adds up!Charles Atlas is about being fit & healthy. If you do the course, it really works!

Somewhere Charles Atlas suggests 8-12 reps - that is a good starting point. "Train don't strain." Something is better than nothing. Listen to your body. I promise you that if you work the course seriously, you will see results!

Well, I now do 400 "dips" every day, but not straight through -- my morning session is 25 dips, 20 crunches, 15 squats, 20 side bends, then repeat dips, crunches & squats & do the neck exercises (5 each) then repeat & do the arm exercises (15 each with "curls", "rowing" & "reverse curls" then repeat ...

I am 58 years old & have been doing the Charles Atlas Fitness Course for about eight months. Since I am in a monastery, my time is greatly restricted & most of my work is done in morning & evening sessions (although I still like to do Lesson One every day at midday & throw in some chin-ups).
