Re: Take care of your body
I go to a senior centre most mornings and see the folks who haven't looked after their health and fitness. Most are way overweight and there because now a doctor will tell them to move for 20 mins a day and they sit on a machine and watch TV.

Re: Snow
People should keep the sidewalk in front of their homes clear, we have sidewalk ploughs but they don't do a perfect job. I had a property with 250 feet of sidewalk I always kept clear of any snow and a 4 car lane way. The guilty people only have the width of their property, these are not old folks ...

Re: Walking in place
I saw an ad on me PC that shows an old fellow marching on the spot, lifting knees high and arm straight up and down (like a DB shoulder press) alternating moving with each leg, the ad sez 100 times. Setting a timer for 10 mins would be just as good then you don't have to keep track of counting.

Re: Dreams
Like the song goes . . .
To dream the impossible dream
To fight the unbeatable foe
To bear with unbearable sorrow
To run where the brave dare not go.
To right the unrightable wrong
To be better far than you are
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach the unreachable star
This is my quest ...

Re: How does it feel to be an Atlas Student?
I originally bought the Atlas Dynamic Tension System 1972 and has been a method of various exercise used over the years. I go to a senior centre during the week, a social thing for me as well as exercise in the fitness room. I walk every time (15 mins each way) but one member lives just up the ...

The senior centre fitness room has push-up bars, I found in a box of leg bands.

Re: Push up bars
I've used a soccer ball size medicine ball, like diamond push-ups. Also used a kettlebell or two. I like using a Swedish ladder, elevating me legs. I mainly just use the floor but have made use of suspension straps at the senior centre fitness room, they let you use many angles, plus some stability.
