it calls for twice daily but you may have to start slower . Listen to your body and see how you recouperate between workouts and you will find your answer.

they are pushups between chairs , dips are different and do effect the muscles and supporting muscles different, best to use a combination.

the dip exercise is a basic exercise and the basics are life long and giving so no but you can add just dont over train
