Re: Back and Knee pain

My back is better. I started doing the crunches instead of situps and leg ups, though I still do them sometimes. I sort of mix it up now. This back pain did not come from my spine, it hurt on my lower back around the back corners of my waist. Sort of where love handles would be. It is a muscle soren...

Re: retro Atlas Course

I know that one of the reasons I didn't get through the Atlas course when I was a youth is because it takes a lot of discipline to complete the course and stay with it. That is not something I had back then. I had to be motivated from without, rather than looking for motivation from within.

Re: Walking

I agree whole-heartedly! Most of the old people I know who are doing well physically are walkers. Some stuies show that there is a real link between leg strength and longevity. The reason is obvious. If you can continue walking, thats good for your heart, digestion, mind, social connection, etc. So,...

Re: Old vs New DT Routine

I have heard that the old DT course had one legged squats and a sort of reverse push-up done with a broom across two chairs? Is this true?

Take it slow. Be consistent. Don't expect overnight results. Atlas said "Be assured the results WILL come." Keep coming back to the forum for motivation and support.

Too Tired to Train

The thread on the Perpetual Lesson got me to thinking about a problem I have had for the past few days. I have been exhausted. Work has been demanding, but I don't think that is the problem. I think I have been drifting into the "No Pain No Gain" mentality instead of the Atlas "Don't ...

Re: Perpetual Lesson

I love the Perpetual Lesson, and something you said made me think of a problem that I have had recently, but I've added a new thread to discuss it. Its a little off the subject of the PL. Please see "Too Tired to Train."

Re: SHAVING

I've tried the Fusion Razor, and it is the best razor ever imho. You are right about it being pricey. I bought a few disposables on a trip and am using them up, but I will probably go back to the Fusion despite the price.

"Its GREAT to be alive"

On the biography video of Atlas he stretches and talks about how when you stretch in the morning and you say "its great to be alive" thats Dynamic Tension. I saw something recently that corresponds to that statement. A person was talking about bodyweight exercises, especially DT, and said ...

Re: Back and Knee pain

Thanks for the helpful information. I'll try it and let you know how it goes!

One of the things I have enjoyed about Atlas is the nice people I have met on this forum.
