Need Encouragement
OK fellow Atlas People. Its been incredibly hot here -- sometimes as much as 112. I have not been doing my walks as faithfully as I should. I have gained weight. I don't feel well. I have also not been doing my workouts as faithfully as I should. I tried bodylastics and it was a disaster. Besides that, I still gained weight. I am going back to DT tomorrow. I need some help on building up my encouragement. I think I will re-read Lesson One, which is in my opinion, one of the most inspiring thing ever written.

Hi rocky,
all of us in one time or another we need encouragement.
This may be because we have a lot of work and not enough time
or courage to do our workouts or it may be due to social duties
or even because (yes it happens even to Atlas students!) we
are lazy sometimes.
I agree with you that the first lesson is very inspiring and full
of good advices not only on training but on the way we live
our lives in general.
Because from time to time I have problem with my weight too
(what can I say, I like food), I also read the second lesson
on nutrition. Just by following Atlas advice on eating from
all the food groups, chewing thoroughly, avoiding white
flour, fat meat and sugars and all the other advices
in the second lesson I loose the excess fat every time.
Atlas says:
"To be successful you must be persistent, and the first secret of persistence is a good start."
so, I am wishing you a very good start, rocky.

Rocky, I would definitely encourage you to read again lesson 1 and lesson 12, for that matter. I you have it or can afford it, I would recommend you to watch the A&E Biography "Charles Atlas: Modern Day Hercules". And finally, I would recommend you to read the article "Every Day, Every Man Should Do These", which was written by Charles Atlas. All these usually help me regain my enthusiasm for exercise if it starts to wane.

Rocky, you can watch thhe charles atlas biograpphy. I've wtched it several times and it always gets me pumped up!!!

If your gaining weight you may need to change your diet (lots of veg), if the Atlas System is your only activity then your going to have to put some good time in with training. You should get as much daily activity in as possible.
