It's a 20 minute walk to the Coves, 3 ponds connected in a horseshoe shape. The ponds a long and fairly wide, on our walks there recently they have been frozen. Groups have gathered to shovel off the surface snow to create rectangular skating areas, most are for hockey and some for free skating. The ponds are big enough to have 4 mini hockey rinks and some skating pathways.
The groups are small bunch of friends getting together for winter fun and use one of the 3 ponds.
The trail there follows the ponds then loops back to the start point, very quiet once into private land. Private coz at one time in olden days was an army shooting range area but now is just used for friends of the Coves.

Henry, good that you are still able to do long walks with your friends; sounds like you might even want to do some ice skating, if you feel up to that kind of challenge.
