Hard Work

Post by ca_admin »

To be in good health think it, dream it and then act. It takes effort. If you want to be fit the only route is not through fads, but hard work, exercise. Think of the best possible outcome for yourself and do your best to get there.

I go to a senior centre fitness room 4 times a week, what I do nobody does except the young staff I challenge to various calisthenics like deep knee bends. I challenged a young student guy to do 40 deep knee bends, either in sets of 10 or 20 and see how that feels the next day. I was explaining to about not just movement but muscle tensing, like make a tight fist and whilst doing a bicep curl tense all the muscles. He was quite amazed, even do an imaginary pull-up tensing the muscles.

I tell some folks that the benefit of Tai Chi isn't doing a follow along class once or twice a week but to learn the form and practice every day over and over. Seniors do a modified Tai Chi at the centre. Same with their chair Yoga, take it home and do everyday.

The young adult lad is very interested in calisthenics, he even did 12 pull-ups.
