In the 1924 Atlas brochure, he said:

"My course consists of twelve individual lessons which are mailed to you each week.
This makes the entire course last three months..."

Hi emfermi,
thanks for asking.

I am doing 1,2,3 and 6 this week and I will continue the same for the next week also.

I did the 1,2,3,4 lessons for 2 weeks because the first week, due to work schedule
I missed some lessons.

The same goes for this week also. We had some projects to complete so I lost
some days, that I will complete next week.

So far the schedule works great. It takes somewhat less time to complete
the exercises so I can concentrate more on each. I also do them in some
kind of superset so I save even more time. For example, I am doing one set
of dips, then the 1st exercise from the 3rd lesson, then another set of
dips, then the 2nd exercise from the 3rd lesson and so on.

I am also trying to do the 5 miles walking. So far I managed to do most
of the miles inside the house, but I did some walking outside also.

That's the news so far. I'll keep in touch.

Peace and good health to all.

I once saw a copy of the course from the 1920s. It showed a photo of page 1, lesson 6, and it said to do half of the exercises in that lesson in the morning, and the other half in the evening. Also, I have read that in the beginning, as part of lesson 6, there was an exercise where you placed two chairs with their backs toward each other, lay a broom handle across their backs, then lay on the floor between them on your back and do pull ups.

THE ONE EXERCISE YOU SPEAK ABOUT WAS REMOVED FROM THE COURSE DUE TO ISSUES WITH IT BEING SAFE OR NOT. SOME PEOPLE IT WOULD NOT BE SAFE TO DO. THE CURRENT COURSE ALSO TALKS ABOUT DOING THE EXERCISES IN THE AM AND THE PM. FORUM ADMIN

Simonjr, which rotation have you chosen? I personally love the vintage one and practice it twice per year ;)

I completed the vintage program on May.

I think that the vintage program is better if you want to increase your strength and power. I believe that this is because you do fewer exercises every day.

On the other hand I believe that the new program is better if you want to lose some weight and to gain more definition.

So, based on your needs, you can choose between the vintage or the modern program, between strength and power or definition and endurance.

I haven't been to this site in awhile. I'm glad I checked in. This topic is a couple or 3 years ago yet I find it very helpful. Great to read your experiences with the lessons schedule. I got my original course in 1968 and thought it was a 3 month course. Most helpful, though, his how you guys handle your actual exercises, and even more I like to read of your dedication to the Atlas program. As I've gotten away from it the last few months, I find your comments inspiring! Thank you, all.
