Best Exercises

I just saw a video of Charles Atlas exercising at age 69! He was still in great shape, and was doing 50 deep knee bends, 100 situps, and 300 pushups every morning! Mr. Atlas probably chose to do these 3 exercises in his advancing years because they work the whole body from head to toe. Actually, these 3 exercises are hard to beat.

I wonder why so few deep knee bends ? Them 3 exercises are my basics, I do them with same reps.

I may be wrong,But I think Charles Atlas did quite a bit of road work as well.

It's a guess, but I would say it's because Mr. Atlas used to run every day. DT encourages to listen to your body and maybe those numbers are what worked best for him.
I completely agree that with those exercises you practically work all the body. I would personally add a back exercise to guarantee a more overall body workout.

I don't know why, Henry. Perhaps it is because he jogged a lot along the beach, and he felt this was enough workout for his legs and lower body. The big 3, pushups, situps, and squats are the base of my exercise program, along with 3 miles walks. These exercises by themselves go a long way towards obtaining great fitness. I, like you, like to do the same amount of reps for each of these exercises.

Beach running is knee work at it's toughest. Hi Henry.
