How do you guys know if you’re getting stronger? How do you check your strength?

I usually do that by doing pull-ups. These are not normally part of my regime, so when I try them and I'm able to do one more (per set or overall) than before I know for sure I am stronger. I have being trying this up for 4 months now and do it once every week or so.
I guess that is why CA always performed feats of strength to show everyone that he was for real. And maybe because in the booklet "Everlasting Health & Strength", you have some of these quoted. By the way, he chinned 34 times without straining according to the booklet.

I have a pull-up bar that I test my strength on, also I work on a building site so can test myself with odd objects to lift.
